The Map and Interactive Controls ribbon is located between the Main Menu and Map Frame. This ribbon provides methods of interacting with the EGIS Viewer Map Frame.
Controls
The following controls are offered on this ribbon:
| Icon | Name | Used To... |
| Map Search | Enter a street name, address, or route number and click "Search" to navigate to a specific location or project. | |
| Select from Map | Click on the icon and then a location on the map to retrieve a list of routes near the location or a route confirmation. | |
| Show Legend | Open the Layer Control, or the Legend, on the Map Frame. Here, the user can toggle layers on (checkbox selected) and off (checkbox unselected) to customize the map view. The Legend can be removed from the Map Frame by clicking the "Hide Legend" link. | |
| Select Basemap | Open a list of available basemaps. This tool allows the visual look of the map to be altered. | |
| Zoom to State | Zoom the map to the State boundary. This is a helpful shortcut to setting the map back to its original format and distance. | |
| Window Area | Change the mouse control to Zoom to a user defined area. To use this, select the icon, then click on the map and drag in one smooth motion to indicate the area to zoom to (red box). | |
| Zoom to Query Results | Zoom the map to the results of a currently defined query. | |
| Print Map | Open a Windows Print Dialog to print the map at its current size and display. | |
| Identify Features | Click on any of the GIS features displayed on the map and retrieve basic information. | |
| Clear Map | Clear all query criteria, query results, and map results, and zoom to state. | |
