The MassDOT STIP Viewer application displays 4 functional areas upon first entry into the application: (1) Project Filters (2) Standard Reports (3) Projects Button, and (4) Map Frame. Each of these are shown in the image below, with corresponding numbers to the list above.
Project Filters
The Project Filters section on the STIP Viewer application determines the mapped projects. There are three radio buttons on this section which show the type of projects that can be mapped for viewing purposes: All, Highway, and Transit. After selecting one of these options, the user can narrow the results further by filling out the other available fields-- Project ID, MPO, Municipality, Program, Funding Year, and Key Word. The "Find" and "Clear" buttons are used to activate or reverse the new selections.
Standard Reports
The Standard Reports section allows the user to generate a preconfigured report for the project data. The user can select a report type, project type (Highway/Transit if applicable), and output type (PDF/Excel) to generate a Standard Report.
Projects Button
The Projects Button opens the MassDOT Projects Viewer interface to view more details on projects beyond the information detailed on Map pop-ups and the Search Results Table. This up-to-date interface allows users to view a breakdown of all federal and state matching dollars used on Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) funded projects. Users can also view the current balances of funds that have not yet been obligated on the Projects Viewer. Beyond the additional funding information, this interface allows insight into Design and Construction statuses for certain projects.
Map Frame
The Map Frame is used to display project data in a more visual and spatial manner. The Map Frame will display the whole state with all projects mapped by default. Its appearance can be altered by using the four available controls: Zoom In, Zoom Out, Legend, and Basemaps. The Map Frame will also host the Search Results table which will appear once the user queries for routes using the Project Filters.
